On the corners of the back and front of the arms are large shell-shaped zinc castings that secure the posts to the top rails. Each foot is also adorned with nautically-inspired castings. The stunning Gold Frost finish is achieved by a multi-step hand-applied gilding process. First a base layer of dappled gold and silver is applied. Then it's glazed with black.
