The single vent in the canopy allows air to flow around and through the shaded area without toppling the umbrella. Made of solution-dyed marine-grade fabric to commercial specifications the canopy will last many seasons in any climate.The heavy-duty one-piece center pole of this umbrella is made from durable Schedule 40 aluminum and covered with a powder-coat finish while the rest of the hardware is stainless steel. This pole fits umbrella bases with 1.5-inch neck diameters. The hub of the umbrella operates smoothly and is made of nylon which is extremely weather-resistant. The four fiberglass ribs that hold the canopy are designed to bend with the breeze to avoid breakage.
