This Plantation-style rocker features dual rounded finials on the back posts and 12 form fitting scooped slats. Excellent craftsmanship makes this one of our favorite rocking chairs. The arched back the properly sized rungs and the arced runners all contribute to this chair having tremendous comfort and perfect pitch. Pitch is best described as the angle of the seat to the floor when the chair is empty. The design of this chair has remained unchanged since its creation in 1924. Ships partially assembled. Troutman Chair Co. established in 1924 uses sturdy oak stock from local loggers as they clear land for developing subdivisions and does not cut trees just to make furniture. The logs are brought to the on-site mills to ensure quality control and a link to their time-honored way of doing things.
