Inspired by a traditional Vietnamese craft the top of the chime is made from spun bamboo also known as lacquerware. Produced in Asia for over 1000 years lacquerware is produced by wrapping thin pieces of bamboo around a mold and then letting them dry. The bamboo is then sanded to achieve a smooth satin finish.Hanging from the spun bamboo top of this chime are multiple hand-tuned hand-carved bamboo chimes each strung on durable nylon cord. The variety of lengths and sizes of the chimes results in a truly unique musical tone that's quite unlike anything else. Bamboo chimes are much favored for their organic subtle sound and you'll love the tones this elegant piece produces.This chime is varnished for outdoor protection but should be brought indoors during cold winter weather.
